About Skate Ed

What we aim to achieve:

Safe spaces to learn skateboarding

Learning a new sport can seem very daunting, especially if it is heavily male dominated. At Skate Ed, we focus on providing a judgement free space, where you can learn skateboarding safely, at your own pace.

Personal growth and development

Skateboarding is a great way for people to develop both their physical and mental skills. Not only does it build confidence and resilience, it also allows children to practise independence while under our guidance.

A sense of belonging

We are always working towards creating a sense of belonging and community. Skateboarding is a great source of connectedness, and acceptance. The culture has always pushed for people to be individuals, which is an important message.

Opportunities for children and young people

Something that is also at the centre of our objectives, is creating opportunities for children and young people. Whether these opportunities are gained through being a student, or being a coach, we value the importance of leadership within skateboarding.

Opportunities for women

The gender inequality within skateboarding creates a mental barrier for many women and non-binary wanting to give it a go. By offering skateboarding lessons for women, by women, we believe we can start to break down this barrier.

Our Lessons

Our lessons are suitable for ages 5+, and open to all skill levels. Skateboards, safety pads, and helmets can be made available to borrow, just let us know. You can book an individual lesson, or sign up for recurring lessons.

We also offer after school lessons, in school lessons, and birthday parties. Our after school lessons are available to book through the website, however these are weather permitting. If you would like more information, please do not hesitate to send us a message.
